Bridges hosts stroke self-management symposium (presentations now uploaded)
On the 12thApril 2010, Bridges hosted a stroke self-management symposium at St George’s, University of London. The audience included over 150 stroke survivors, carers, clinicians and managers. Presentations were given by Dr Damian Jenkinson (Head of the Stroke Improvement Programme), Carole Pound (Former Director of Innovation at Connect), Eileen Collins (a stroke survivor) and Dr Fiona Jones (Principal physiotherapy lecturer and Director of Bridges). Please click on the respective name to view their presentation.
The feedback so far has been very positive – ‘’ informative and interesting’’, ‘’such an innovative approach’’. The presentation given by Eileen was described as inspirational by many people as she reflected on her self-management since experiencing a stroke.
We took this opportunity to launch our new name and identity to everyone and would like to thank the design agency MooreBlackett for their work on the rebranding from Stepping Out to Bridges stroke self-management. The stroke workbook has now been completely updated according to feedback from stroke survivors and clinicians as well as latest stroke research and is available to order for teams who have attended the Stepping Out/Bridges training. Please contact us for any further enquiries.
